Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida

Stewards of the Everglades.

The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida has lived in the Everglades for generations and was federally recognized in 1962. The Tribe's constitution charges it with protecting the natural resources of its homeland, and today it co-stewards Everglades National Park alongside federal partners.

Along the Tamiami Trail the Tribe also welcomes visitors at the Miccosukee Indian Village & Museum and the Miccosukee Casino & Resort. The Plaza is the newest way to stop, learn, and support the Tribe's presence in the Everglades.
